Brightside on Victoria, formerly known as the Senior Citizens Day Respite Centre, has been providing quality respite care and friendly social groups in Toowoomba since 1987.

Brightside on Victoria is a well-equipped centre with reverse cycle air conditioning, comfortable furniture, and a library of resources and activities to ensure our Guests have a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable experience.
We understand that each of our Guests is unique which is why we offer a flexible program of fun activities, celebrations, and outings, catering to a wide-range of individual interests and needs.
Our Guests enjoy music, play games, attend events, take picnics, and celebrate birthdays, forming lasting friendships and keeping actively involved in the community.
We offer all Guests a delicious morning tea and two course lunch daily.
All meals are freshly prepared each day, catering for any special dietary requirements.
Transport is available on request to eligible Guests living within the Toowoomba City Region. Local public transport is also available within walking distance of the centre.

Living in social isolation
Living with disabilities
People living with dementia
Guests wishing to attend Brightside on Victoria’s day respite centre and friendly social groups under funded programs must be assessed as CHSP/QCC/NDIS eligible prior to attending. We also welcome Guests receiving funded home care packages.
All Guests who access the centre may either live alone or may live with family or a Carer. Referrals through My Aged Care, Health Care professionals, relatives, and friends are welcome, as well as self-referrals.
Access to the day respite centre is on a non-discriminatory basis for all eligible Guests with support available for people from CALD groups and non-English speaking backgrounds, including those with special needs, people suffering from Dementia, and Guests who are financially disadvantaged.
Our fees are governed by the funding body our Guests are accepted under. Private payment for clients who are not eligible for funding is also available on request.
Brightside on Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation, funded by both the State and Federal Governments and community donations.
The centre is governed by the Toowoomba Senior Citizens Welfare Association Inc. Board of Directors which consists of eight dedicated and passionate volunteers who are chosen for their knowledge, skills, and experience.
The Board ensures the sound governance and long-term sustainability of Brightside on Victoria by adhering to the Home Care Common Standards and the Human Services Quality Standards.
